Messaging

Send direct and group messages to your colleagues without leaving Mployr.

Overview

Messaging is built-in team chat. It keeps work conversations alongside the rest of your data, so you can talk to colleagues about a person, a roster, or a job without switching to another app. Use it to:

• Send direct messages to one person
• Start group conversations with a team
• Keep a searchable history of work conversations

Opening Messages

1. Your conversations appear in a list, most recent first
2. Click a conversation to open it and read the full thread

Unread conversations are highlighted, and new messages raise a notification (see the Notifications guide).

Starting a New Conversation

1. Choose the people to include:

1. Type your first message and send

Sending Messages

1. Open a conversation
2. Type your message in the box at the bottom
3. Press send

Messages appear in the thread in order, with the most recent at the bottom.

Group Conversations

Group conversations are useful for a team, a shift, or anyone working on the same thing. Everyone in the group sees new messages and can reply.

Notifications

You're notified of new messages so you don't miss anything important. You can tune how and when you're alerted under Settings → Notifications - see the Notifications guide. On the Mployr mobile app, messaging is available on the go, with push notifications for new messages.

Tips

• Use direct messages for one-to-one questions and group conversations for team coordination
• Keep work discussions in Messaging so there's a record everyone can refer back to
• Check your notification settings so you're alerted to messages the way you prefer
• The mobile app is handy for quick replies when you're away from your desk
